Modern is a precision cam manufacturing company located in Taylor, Michigan and has been engineering and manufacturing OEM cams since 1971. Champion has been supplying the metal turning industry since 1945 and Modern has been a supplier to Champion for over 40 years. Cams can be purchased thru Champion or Modern Cam for the same pricing and delivery.

Modern Cam & Tool manufactures cams for the following machines:

Acme-Gridley, Brown & Sharpe, Conomatic, Davenport, Euroturn, Gildemeister, Goss & DeLeeuw, New Britain, Nu-Tap, Schutte, Tornos, Wickman

In addition to the standard cams for these machines, Modern can engineer special cams for operations including thread-rolling, thread-cutting, knurling, stamping and other applications. Modern can also help solve production problems with specially-designed non-plunging chip-breaker cams, in & out cams for eliminating spiral tool marks during cut-off, special-cycle cams, variable feed-rate cams, and multiple-rise cams. Modern has the ability to engineer cams from prints, samples or customer specifications for other machine types. Modern is increasing material levels for reduced delivery times and Champion currently stocks hundreds of new cam sets for Acme-Gridley screw machines.
