Davenport Machine, Inc. Slashes
Prices Across the Board
U.S. company's pricing
goes head-to-head with foreign and knock-off competitors
ROCHESTER, NEW YORK -- After only
four months under the management of new owner Brinkman International
Group, Inc., Davenport Machine, Inc. announced today a significant
price reduction affecting over 3,000 parts, attachments, and machine
tool products. The price reduction is a key manifestation of the new
ownership's promise of introducing "the New Davenport," with renewed
focus on customer satisfaction, improved quality and pricing, and
heightened competition against foreign markets and domestic
knock-off parts manufacturers.
"These
reductions make Davenport competitive in today's marketplace," said
Bob Brinkman, owner and CEO, Davenport Machine, Inc. "In just four
months of reorganization, we've proved that high quality machine
tools and replacement parts can be manufactured in America at
competitive prices."
The company began new marketing
initiatives and internal restructuring earlier this year, launching
a number of new programs and efforts under the restructuring slogan,
"Come back to the new Davenport" -- an invitation to previous
customers of the century-old business to return to Davenport for all
of their screw machine parts, attachments and new machine purchases,
as well as a promise of the strengthening of the traditional values
of high quality parts, personal service, and innovation, the traits
that had been associated with Davenport for decades.
Across-the board Changes
The company's authorized price list reflects changes to over 3,000
parts related to the repair and maintenance of global installations
of Davenport's five-spindle automatic screw machines including
Davenport's Servo B and Model B.
"The price reduction isn't the result of any single change," said
Brinkman. "It was made possible thanks to the full range of
improvements we've made through the course of our revitalization,
but more importantly to the renewed loyalty of our existing,
returning, and new customers."
Brinkman specifically attributes the price reductions to:
- Process re-engineering resulting
in renewed quality, and production efficiencies, including reduced
cycle times and dimensionally enhanced parts
- Growing customer reluctance to use
knock-off replacement parts, in favor of genuine parts made by the
original manufacturer of their Davenport machines
- Increased order volumes, from
customers who have "Come back to the new Davenport"
Competitive price quotes are
available through customers' local distributors of Davenport screw
machine products, or can be acquired directly from Davenport through
one of its sales representatives.
More to come
Brinkman said that the current price reductions are just the first
element of the changes customers can expect. "We're committed to
weeding out knock-off producers of Davenport OEM parts, and we are
in the process of re-engineering all of our parts to improve
tolerances, quality and at the same time reduce manufacturing
costs." he said. The continued examination and improvement of
production efficiencies opens the door to further possible cost
reductions in the future, especially with increased volumes of parts
from returning customers.
